Our second dinner event was held on Saturday, October 18 at Georgio's of Orland Park. We are grateful to all who supported the dinner by purchasing tickets, bidding on silent and live auction items and making donations.  More than $20,000 was raised for the benefit of Casa and the Endowment for Casa de los Angeles.

Instructions for ordering tickets on-line

1. Begin by making a dinner menu selection at the right.

2. Enter the first guest's name and click "Add to Cart."

3. A new browser window will open and a "cart summary" will appear.

4. Click "Continue Shopping" if there are additional guests you wish to add.

5. When all guests are accounted for, check your cart summary and make sure that everything is accurate.

6. Proceed to Checkout.  We will send the tickets to you through the mail.

 

*Note:  If you are purchasing tickets, but are yet unsure who the particular guest will be, simply enter "TBA" as the name. Menu options can be changed up until October 4, 2008.  When you know who the guest will be, simply come back to this site and email Mr. and Mrs. Jim Janssen with the details.

If you would like to make a donation specifically directed to the Angeles y Milagros event, click the "Donate" button.  %60 of all proceeds go to the Endowment for Casa de los Angeles.

If you are unable to attend the event, making a donation is something that we would greatly appreciate.  Donations are fully tax-deductible.  All donations, unless otherwise specified, will be split between the endowment (60%) and Casa operating expenses (40%).

Making a donation is an option on the mail or fax order form.

There are four special sponsorship opportunities for supporters at $10,000, $5,000, $2,500 and $1,500 commitments.  For information on these sponsorships, please see  "Sponsor the Event."

Milagros is Spanish for Miracles.

Santa Clara (St. Clair is the name given to Casa’s transitional housing program.

In the courtyard of Casa’s first daycare is a large pepper tree that shades the play area. “Under the Pepper Tree” is the name of a book written by Donna Quathamer about Casa de los Angeles and the families.

A program booklet will be given to all attendees at the dinner on October 18th.  Businesses and organizations are invited to buy space in the booklet to advertise, place coupons and promotions and share messages of support for Casa or Cross of Glory Church.

Business or Organization Advertisement

We invite businesses and organizations to include an advertisement in the program booklet.  The ad space may be used for marketing purposes by including an address, website, phone numbers, logos, upcoming sales, services, specials and coupons.  A congratulatory or support message can be crafted for Casa or Cross of Glory Church.  We can include a pre-determined design that fits the booklets measurements, or we can craft an ad for you.

Personal Message

We invite friends and supporters of Casa and or Cross of Glory, volunteers and family members to submit messages for the program booklet.  Personal messages have been submitted in memory of loved ones, to support and congratulate the honorees (Cross of Glory), to congratulate Casa (on the opening of the new daycare!), to congratulate the Marathon team, or to recall a volunteer experience at Casa. Be creative.  You are free to include pictures and may choose to design the layout on your own or ask us to do it for you.  Personal messages may not include any reference to a business or organization- they must truly be personal.  Use the business or organization advertisement for anything that promotes a business or organization.

The Endowment for Casa de los Angeles

 

The Endowment for Casa de los Angeles was established at the first Angeles y Milagros dinner in October of 2007.  60% of undirected proceeds from the dinner event are placed into this endowment fund to ensure that the work of Casa de los Angeles continues for many, many years to come.

 

Currently, monthly operating expenses for Casa de los Angeles average about $.  

 

Specifically directed donations can be made to the endowment at any time.

Casa has many supporters around the United States, Mexico, Canada, England, Vietnam, Australia... the list goes on.  Orland Park, Illinois is quite a distance away- so maybe you won't be able to participate.  Please consider submitting a program booklet ad- whether for a business or organization, or a personal message of encouragement, congratulations or support.  Take a look at these three examples from last year's booklet.  There are two different rates for businesses/organizations and personal ads.  The middle is an example of a business/organization ad.

Cross of Glory Church in Homer Glen, Illinois has been a blessing to Casa de los Angeles right from our very beginning almost eight years ago.  Cross of Glory Church was in the midst of realizing its own long-term hopes to build a church facility and at the same time, they helped Casa to purchase it's original building.  That was the beginning.  The prayer, emotional support, financial support, and plane loads of volunteers that have continued to come from Casa from this place of worship in Homer Glen have been simply wonderful.
